My name is Brian, and I am the Bushcraft instructor here at BLOS – I have been teaching Bushcraft for over for over 35. Bushcraft is the knowledge and skills required to help you survive and thrive in the wilderness. In the Bushcraft sessions I will teach you some of these skills.
These skills will include:
- Lighting fires with Fero Rods and Flint and steel
- Cooking on an open fire
- Identifying trees and plants
- Foraging
- Building a survival shelter
- Making your own hand tools and learning how to use them safely
- Leather Craft- making drawstring purses and pouches
- Knots and lashing
- Building a pioneering project such as a bed, chair or table for use in your survival camp
- Paracord crafts- Making paracord Bracelets, key rings etc
I have had a passion for the great outdoors since my childhood. My hobbies and career have all been about learning, developing and teaching people about life in the great outdoors. I love that here at BLOS I get to do this as my job.
At BLOS we work towards AQA units and we will also create a portfolio with evidence of the activities you have done while you are with us and also the skills you have developed.
Don’t worry if you previously seen Bear Grylls on tv. I will teach you the right way to learn bushcraft skills.
